Terms and Conditions
- FirstNET
is not responsible for the content of
the information available on the Internet. It is the user's responsibility
to use discretion regarding the content that is viewed.
- FirstNET
's online services may only be used for
lawful purposes. You the client are responsible for complying
by all rules and regulations for the networks that you access.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FirstNET
from any claims
stemming from your use of our network or any other network accessed.
- FirstNET
is not responsible for any loss caused
by service interruption resulting from negligence of any party
or an act of God.
- Payment is due on your anniversary day each
month for the upcoming month's service. A 14-day grace period is available for monthly payments.
If the grace period is passed and the payment is not received
at P.O. Box 5086, Charlottesville, VA 22905, then your
service may be interrupted. Checks written to FirstNET
that are returned
will result in a $25.00 return check charge and service may be
interrupted. Checks must be payable FirstNET
.
- Only immediate family members residing in your
household may use the username and password assigned to you. If
you would like additional logins please contact FirstNET
for a reduced
rate.
- Services or products provided by FirstNET
may
not be resold or redistributed.
- You must provide a written request 5 days before
your monthly or annual termination date to terminate services.
If this request is not received by the required date your service
will be renewed and you will be responsible for the new balance.
No refunds on unused service. An early termination fee of $25 will be
imposed on annual accounts terminated prior to the end of the yearly
renewal date.
- FirstNET
reserves the right to change its pricing
and/or policies at any time. E-mail or U.S. Postal Mail will notify
you within 30 days prior to a change. If you do not provide a
written request to terminate your service within 5 days prior
to the change we will begin billing or using the terms and/or
conditions on the stated date of the notice. For clients that
have prepaid accounts the customer has the right to accept or
deny the new rates and/or policies. Should the client deny the
changes, FirstNET
shall provide a prorated refund at current rates
of any time unused.
- FirstNET
reserves the right to refuse service
to anyone and the right to terminate any account at any time.
FirstNET
may at its discretion terminate a client's account for excessive
usage at any time. Client acknowledges that they may
not use this account as a dedicated connection to FirstNET
or the
Internet. We do offer dedicated network access services at a very
low rate, please contact us regarding these services.
- Additional information:
- Unlimited online access does not mean a dedicated connection. Users may not use
a "ping" utility or similar program/device to keep the connection
to our network "up" or to automatically re-connect after the
connection is terminated. Your connection with us will be
disconnected after 15 minutes of idle time. You may re-connect
and use our services after you have been disconnected provided
that you do it manually. Users are also not allowed to share
their passwords or user names with others (please see number
5 above)
- E-mail addresses. You may elect
to use one, multiple, or none of the e-mail addresses assigned
to your account. By default your account is set up with a
single e-mail address. Please call us to set up your additional
e-mail address. Users may not use "Spam Mailings" through
our servers. In the event that you do send "Spam Mailings"
we will charge you $1.00 per mail sent. Please limit the number
of e-mail addresses to in-house family members.
- FTP and WWW usage. Users are designated
a WWW and FTP site to use at their leisure on request. By
default your storage space is 10Mb. If you go over this amount
you will be charged $1.00 per additional Mb. We charge by
rounding up to the next Mb so this means that if you have
1.1Mb on our servers we will charge you for 2Mb's of storage
space.
(All contracts are renewed on a monthly or yearly basis depending on the type of contract)
